Summary

The examples shown in this Part have mostly come from the author’s own home education records, spanning eleven years. Many different types of planning and recording methods were used and trialled, and each reflected the educational approach adopted at the time.

There are several commercially prepared evaluation and monitoring folders available, especially from the United States of America. Although these can seem attractive, in terms of saving time preparing your own recording sheets or checklists, they often contain sections you will find are not relevant to your family situation. If you can, review such folders first before buying your own.

"The best thing I ever did when I started homeschooling was read this book.  It has all the practical stuff, but most importantly it encourages you to look at why you are wanting to homeschool, and what you are wanting to achieve. It will also show you that there are many different ways to home educate (from 'school at home' to 'natural learning'), and encourages you to find  what works best for you and your children. I still go back and look at it all the time." Nikki, ACT
